Wool Sales Catalogue 10/25

The 2025/26 wool selling season continued today, with a small volume of 5 373 bales offered on the 10th sale.

Although the majority of the offering consisted of fine micron, long length wools, only 44,6% of the merino offering was sustainably certified.

The market had a satisfactory performance today, taking into account that the ZAR traded 1,7% stronger against the US$, delivering positive results in US$ terms.

Sustainably certified merino clips once again performed well, with an overall sales clearance of 97%.

The all-merino indicator shed 1,1% to close on R193,78 p/kg, with the certified indicator easing by 0,8% to close on R200,65 p/kg.

A highest price of R290,58 p/kg (clean) was paid for a single bale lot of 15,6 micron merino fleece wool.

The Australian market also eased slightly by 0,98% (AU$) this week from the previous sale held on Wednesday, 22 October.

The major buyers on today’s sale were Tianyu SA (1 289), G Modiano SA (1 063), BKB Pinnacle Fibres (955) and Standard Wool SA (830).

The next sale will be held on 5 November 2025 when approximately 9 112 bales will be on offer.
